A dermatologist can help you care for your skin by diagnosing skin disease and giving the patient options for treatments. They also educate patients in proper skin care and skin disease prevention. Dermatologists can also perform surgery on the skin as well as many different cosmetic procedures.

Often, illnesses affect many areas of the body and may require evaluation and treatment by several types of doctors.
