UT Medical Group, Inc.'s Department of Neurology includes a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty expertise in movement disorders. The professional staff is on the faculty of the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and offers both clinical and consultation services.
What Are Movement Disorders?
Movement disorders include idiopathic, acquired, and hereditary diseases and syndromes that disrupt voluntary movement and/or produce involuntary movements. The most publicized movement disorder is Parkinson's disease. Among other movement disorders are dystonia, essential tremor, Huntington's disease, ataxia, myoclonus, and restless legs syndrome.
