UT Medical Group, Inc.'s Trauma Surgery division specializes in critical care surgery that may be the result of accidents, violence, or a person's medical history. Activities include resuscitation, operative care, critical care, and rehabilitation. Surgeons perform emergency and scheduled surgical procedures and oversee the recovery of patients.
We work closely with other specialists including gastroenterologists, medical & radiation oncologists, gynecologists, and urologists for care of patients with complex disorders.
The UTMG Department of Surgery physicians maintain privileges at the major hospital systems in Memphis, including The Regional Medical Center (The Med), Baptist Memorial Hospital, Methodist University Hospitals of Memphis, and the Memphis Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC).
