Emergency Medicine

UT Medical Group’s Department of Emergency Medicine consists of specialists in the field who are dedicated to giving the best patient care possible. Our emergency medicine physicians not only treat the victims of accidents and trauma, but also countless other situations in which patients have a sudden onset of symptoms, some of which may be life-threatening. Among other disciplines, an Emergency Medicine Physician must be familiar with aspects of Acute Medicine, Elderly Care, Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Surgery, Trauma, and Toxicology.

In addition to their teaching duties at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, UT Medical Group Emergency Medicine Physicians maintain privileges at the major hospital systems in Memphis, including The Regional Medical Center, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, LeBonheur Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Memphis Veterans Administration Medical Center (MVAMC).
