Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that affects over 2 million American adults. It is characterized by an inability to tell the difference between fantasy and reality, to think rationally, and to interact with other people. Symptoms typically may include psychotic behavior such as hallucinations or delusions, an inability to communicate normally, mood swings, and a visible lack of interest in life. Symptoms often arise in the teen years and persist throughout life.
