UT Medical Group, Inc.'s Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine is comprised of physicians on the faculty of the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis who offer both clinical and consultation services and are certified by the The American Board of Dermatology, a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
Dermatologists deal with conditions and diseases of the skin including, among others: atopic dermatitis often called eczema, skin cancer, impetigo, hives, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, psoriasis, wrinkles, age spots, dry skin, rosacea, spider veins, vericose veins, seborrhea, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, aging-associated skin problems, head lice, and a host of allergic reactions and rashes due to poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and insect bites.
A dermatologist can help you care for your skin by diagnosing skin disease and giving the patient options for treatments. They also educate patients in proper skin care and skin disease prevention. Dermatologists can also perform surgery on the skin as well as many different cosmetic procedures.
