What Are Movement Disorders?
Movement disorders include idiopathic, acquired, and hereditary diseases and syndromes that disrupt voluntary movement and/or produce involuntary movements. The most publicized movement disorder is Parkinson's disease. Among other movement disorders are dystonia, essential tremor, Huntington's disease, ataxia, myoclonus, and restless legs syndrome.
