Neurology
UT Medical Group, Inc.'s division of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics is comprised of physicians on the faculty of the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis who offer both clinical and consultation services and are certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Neurologists diagnose and treat disorders of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) and muscles. Pediatric Neurologists, with training in both pediatrics and neurology, provide for the care of children with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic and metabolic problems, malformation, and other developmental problems of childhood.
Neurological disorders include, among others, attention deficit disorders, autism, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, encephalitis, epilepsy, headache and other pain, learning problems, memory disorders, meningitis, muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disease, sleep disorders, spinal cord injury, stroke, tics, and Tourette syndrome.
