Urology

UT Medical Group, Inc.'s department of Urology includes board-certified physicians on the faculty of the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis who offer both clinical and consultation services specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting male and female reproductive organs. A surgical specialty, these doctors employ state-of-the-art techniques as well as traditional medical skills to alleviate urological problems, including:

In addition to the UT Medical Group office locations, the urologists maintain privileges at all major hospital systems in Memphis, including The Regional Medical Center, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Memphis Veterans Administration Medical Center (MVAMC). They perform surgical procedures such as laser surgery, laparoscopy, cryosurgery, microsurgery, and brachytherapy.

Besides strong clinical skills, the department has received national and international recognition for their research. All are on staff at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where they are able to conduct laboratory and clinical research through facilities such as the UT Urologic Research Laboratories. Because of the large numbers of men affected by the disease, much of their focus has been on prostate cancer.
