Rheumatologists Honored by Colleagues

The Tennessee Rheumatology Society presented its first-ever President's Award to Dr. Stanley Kaplan for his invaluable contributions to rheumatology in the state.  A UT Medical Group rheumatologist and professor of medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Kaplan is 2005-2006 president of the College of Medicine faculty and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American Medical Association, Memphis Academy of Internal Medicine, and the Tennessee Medical Association.  He has been repeatedly named among the best doctors in the nation by various surveys.  Most recently, he was named to the Top Doctors™ list published by the research and publishing firm of Castle Connolly Ltd.

Dr. Kristine M. Lohr was awarded the 2006 International Distinguished Service Award by the Society for Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine.  Lohr is a UT Medical Group rheumatologist and professor of medicine at UT.  She is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and the recipient of numerous awards, including the American College of Rheumatology Clinician Scholar Educator Award.
