Board Member Honored UT Medical Group board member Herman Morris, Jr. has been honored in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, in the area of Energy Law.
Former CEO of Memphis Light Gas and Water and a practicing attorney, Morris is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and Rhodes College. As one of only eight attorneys in the state recognized by the publication in the energy specialty, and the only black attorney so honored, Morris stated, "Energy is such an important part of all of our lives; I am honored to have been nominated for this recognition and humbled to have been chosen as one of the 'Best Lawyers in America' by my peers. I received this award in the mid 90’s when I was General Counsel at MLGW, but this one means a lot more to me. Morris who recently left the largest law firm in the state to start his own practice added "This comes at a very good time."
