Growth and Development - Your Infant (0 - 12 months)
During infancy, your baby is learning to trust and feel secure in your care. You can give your child this sense of trust and security by:
Taking care of your baby's physical needs, like: hunger, sleep, and clean diapers.
Being there for your baby as the one consistent caregiver.
Singing, reading, and talking to your baby.
The first year of your child's life is important in establishing a basic sense of trust, hope, and love.
Milestones to look for:
(These are only guidelines. Each child is different, and may do things at different times. If you see your child is 6 months or more behind on any of these skills, talk to your child's doctor.) |
