Growth and Development - Your Toddler (1 - 3 Years)
During the toddler stage, your child is becoming more independent by exploring the world. Your child will begin to use language. Toddlers begin to solve simple problems and show more interest in other children.
As a parent of a toddler, you can:
Set appropriate limits on behavior.
Teach your child to share.
Teach your child not to bite or hit.
Be consistent in your discipline.
Spend time looking at and reading books with your child.
Teach your child the names of things
Praise your child for good behavior.
Milestones to look for:
(These are only guidelines. Each child is different, and may do things at different times. If you see your child is 6 months or more behind on any of these skills, talk to your child's doctor.) |
